Life through a lens

3rd time’s a charm…

A few years ago I started a ‘blog’ on xanga.  Don’t hate.  It turned out to be more like a girl’s middle school diary.  And I was 21.  Embarrassing would be a good word for it.  It didn’t last long, thank God.  Last year I began another blog.  This time I wanted to document my journey with photography.  I had gotten my first DSLR camera the year before, and at that point, was starting to shoot weddings and portrait sessions.  I think I blogged a total of 3 times. In a year, people.  Lame.  So, I’m hoping this time it sticks.  I want to be able to look back and remember learning the ins and outs of the photography business, interacting with clients, pricing myself, learning more about my camera and posing my clients, and quite possibly learning more about myself.  I absolutely love taking pictures of people, creating art from a single frozen moment in time.   I am in awe of beautiful pictures.   So, here’s to a fresh start in the blog world.

And because I love posts with pictures, here’s one from a recent wedding I shot:

Cassy, I loved reading your blog and feel like I know you even better. You are a good communicator.
My favorite time at a wedding is when the groom first beholds his bride, the look on his face is full of love, hope, promise, fear, dreams, future, responsibility and unabashed joy!!! As you know, I am somewhat of a traditionalist (ha) so I’m glad I got to see that look on Matt’s face, it was priceless.

    Cassy,
You’re an amazing young woman. I’m so so very proud of you on so many levels. I’m thankful I had the privilege of raising you & having you as my daughter. You are extremely talented & I love seeing it being demonstrated in your photography. May this venture be nothing but pure joy for you as you have been to me. I love you sweetie. Happy clicking! :)
